Where it all started

Technology has been a passion of Chris's since he was young. His father was an electronics engineer, so he grew up with circuit boards in his hands.

Chris started as an auto electrician in the early 2000s, installing car audio systems. He then moved into broadcast television at Seven Network, where he helped set up new processes as the industry shifted from tape to digital media.

In live sport, he saw an opportunity in live streaming at a small startup, integrating his broadcast television experience into this new visual median. Large contracts included the MX Nationals, the British Weightlifting Championships and the Australian Go-Kart Championships.

Alongside producing live sport, Chris also won multiple awards for his short film productions. This is where he gained his experience in lighting design and learned how lighting affects mood, which carries into the lighting scenes and designs he creates for homes.

After moving to the Sunshine Coast, Chris joined the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre. The venue had been set up with equipment that was fairly new to the industry, and he helped lead the vision department in understanding these technologies.

Seeing a growing trend in smart home automation and drawing on his experience of making older systems more efficient, he has built processes that let the team spend more time on what matters: the experience, not the technology.

For the security conscious, it's knowing your family is safe. That could be cameras with colour night vision that you can check from anywhere and an alarm system with access control so you can come and go without keys.

A holiday home is different again. You want it to run seamlessly while you're away, and to be accessible remotely. There's nothing worse than being far from your second home and not knowing what's going on.
